Rugged equipment

Rugged - suitable for fieldwork; resistant to rain, snow, sun and cold... Not every machine can boast such a title. To say that a device is rugged, it has to meet many regulations, standards and pass many tests before it can be classified into a group of rugged devices.

The products of Getac have to pass many endurance tests before they can be offered to a large number of customers worldwide.

Tests:

  • water tests where devices are tested to ensure they are watertight. Rain or even pouring water over the device should not impede the user when operating the device (MIL-STD 810F 506.4),
  • the equipment can be used in running vehicles, trucks, cranes where there is a large amount of shock,
  • static electricity test,
  • versatile and comprehensive tests of all hardware where the devices were run at  maximum capacity (to check the possibility of overheating),
  • displaying images on a monitor in extreme weather conditions. The image stays intact, regardless of whether the temperature drops to well below zero. This is as a result of a special heating unit coated over the screen, which is activated as soon as the drop in temperature affects the quality of the image on display,
  • direct sunlight will not affect your work due to Getac's QuadraClear solution. The display has the capacity to adjust to different weather conditions,
  • the device operates at temperatures from -23°C to 60°C (from - 9.4°F to 140°F),
  • MIL-STD-810F Method 507.4 - Humidity test,
  • MIL-STD-810F Method 514.5 - Vibration test,
  • MIL_STD_810F Method 516.5 - Shock test - tested items are dropped a total of 26 drops from a height of 100 cm (3,28 ft).
